Lantana varieties include those which are NOT invasive. It is sold in stores in Florida, Arizona and California. I bought a native Lantana at a natural plant sale -- like a lot of "wild" varieties it is delicate to get started. It died. My dogs like the smell but don't eat it at all.

I have Vego beds and I agree 100% with your review. It is refreshing to hear from a smart engineer, I am a chemist and have identical thoughts on these beds. I live in southern Louisiana zone 9b, so heat is a concern. I went with a much lighter color than your beds in a more exposed area. I have not found any damage to roots near the sides of the beds so I am not worried about heat effects. Of course all raised beds drain much quicker than “in ground” beds so you need to prepared to deal with irrigation, hand watering or plants that tolerate drought.

I have been trying to get my sweet potato to grow slips for 2 weeks now (it's store bought, non organic) by placing it in water. Definitely going to throw it in my bin on my next day off. And I'm going to do what you say and mix my compost w/ mulch. Can't wait to see the results! I think my timing might be off but I'm hoping to get multiple bins going.

Marlberry is slow growing. Is an upright grower. And can be pruned. Privet Senna does well in shade.

We use those bags for garbage! Do not cut them so you may use them. I sieve all of the bags we buy and find an enormous amount of wood products in them! Use that for mulch around trees. Nitrogen is taken up by that wood refuse...Like your video! Jeff

What month did you do the hard prune? Do you think mid June is an ok time to prune like this?

In southeast Asia, the bittermelon weed is a favorite for soups and stews. Also, the green fruit is commonly used for salads and dishes (they just call them wild bittermelon). The ripe fruit is listed poisonous but birds loved eating them.

I choose the worst time of year to start gardening as a hobby lol I do have sweet potatoes in containers, two papaya trees, 3 different types of sweet peppers, banana peppers, jalapeño peppers, a moringa tree and three Roselle. My lettuce turned out bitter 😭 green papaya can be made into a candy, in the Caribbean they call it paw paw candy. I’ve had it and it was delicious

Never knew. I've almost killed 3 small mulberry trees because missed 1-2 days watering (dry, 100⁰). At least 1 lost most of its leaves, but has yet to yield berries 2yrs later. Other 2 smalls no berries either. One larger one, few berries. Other larger one nothing. Two huge ones, some but not enough to do anything with.

What brand of seeds did you say produce more per bag that others? Where do you buy them?
